Ray Mona explores the early phenomenon, cultural significance, and influence of the Sailor Moon franchise on western media after its introduction to the west in the 90s. However, before the anime managed to make a splash in the United States, several attempts had been made to "Americanize" the series. One attempt, in particular, has famously been dubbed as "Saban Moon". In part 1 of this deep dive, Ray attempts to uncover this media through a series of investigative interviews, and manages to uncover some new finds...
